A little well-known secret, I won my husband’s heart with these cookies. They are his favorite. The recipe is so simple and one that you will want to make over and over this holiday season!
My mom and I make the same recipe, and she tells me all the time that mine are better. So here are my secrets for making these cookies appear as the photo above.
- Roll the cookie dough into small balls of similar size on the cookie sheet
- Cook the cookies for 6-6.5 minutes instead of the typical 8-10 minutes
Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups of All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp of Baking Soda
- 1/2 cup of Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup of Light Brown Sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup of Salted Butter
- 1/2 cup Shortening
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix butter and shortening together with a hand mixer. Next add granulated sugar and brown sugar and mix till fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, mix well. Add flour and baking soda (I mix 1 1/2 cups flour first then add the final cup to the batter). Mix in chocolate chips with a spoon or spatula.
Next roll the dough into balls onto the baking tray. Bake for 6 to 6.5 minutes. Let them cool and enjoy!
